Terms of service

Using the site

You may browse the directory freely. You agree not to scrape the catalog at a rate that degrades service for others, not to attempt to access accounts that are not yours, and not to interfere with the normal operation of the site.

Accounts

An account lets you submit listings, vote, and comment. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Accounts are not transferable.

Submitting a listing

When you submit a listing you confirm that:

• The project is public and the URL you provide resolves to a working product.
• The description accurately describes what the product does.
• You have the right to use the name, logo, screenshots, and links you submit.
• The submission is not spam, a placeholder, or a page with no working product behind it.

The badge requirement

Free listings stay live while the project site carries a small badge linking back to CompassPad. We check for it automatically. If it disappears, the listing is paused and you are notified; restoring the badge restores the listing.

Editorial decisions

Every submission is reviewed by a person. A listing can be approved, returned for changes, rejected with a reason, or removed if the project goes offline or the description stops being accurate. We will tell you which of these happened and why.

Paid placement

Paid tiers are described on the pricing page. Payment buys placement, styling, and faster approval. It does not buy a vote count, and it does not change your position inside a feed sorted by votes. Paid placements are labeled in the interface.

Your content

You keep ownership of everything you submit. By submitting, you give us permission to display it on CompassPad, including on category pages, tag pages, and in the site search. You can ask us to remove a listing at any time.

Prohibited content

Do not submit content that infringes another party's rights, misrepresents what a product does or who made it, or distributes malware or unlawful material. Listings that break these rules are removed.

Availability and liability

We aim to keep the site available but we do not promise uninterrupted service. The directory is provided as is. Listings describe third-party products; we do not warrant those products and we are not a party to any deal you make with a listed company.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
