What we collect

We collect the minimum needed to run a directory with accounts and voting.

• Account details you provide: your email address and, optionally, a display name.
• Listing details you submit: the project name, URL, description, category, tags, and any images you upload.
• Votes and comments: the listing you voted on or commented on, and the time you did it.
• A hashed request identifier used to count one vote per visitor and to rate-limit abuse. It is derived from your network address and is not stored in a form that identifies you.

What we do not collect

We do not sell personal data. We do not run third-party advertising networks on this site. We do not build cross-site tracking profiles.

Cookies

We set one essential cookie when you sign in so the site knows which account is yours. Without it you cannot stay signed in. We do not use cookies for advertising.

Analytics

We measure aggregate page views so we know which parts of the catalog people use. These figures are reported in aggregate and are not used to identify individual visitors.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and the data attached to it. Deleting your account removes your votes and comments; published listings you submitted are removed from the directory.

To make a request, email us from the address on your account.

Data retention

Account data is kept while your account is open. When you delete your account, the personal data attached to it is removed. Aggregate counts that no longer identify anyone may be retained.

Children

CompassPad is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
